Family history Laird of Glencairn
Laird of Glencairn
With John Cunningham, the fifteenth Earl, the direct line of succession ended in 1796, while numerous Cunningham branches continued. Finlaystone, family archives, and the characteristic fork-cross on the coat of arms Coat of arms keep the story alive. Historically, Glencairn is primarily known as the Earldom; „Laird of Glencairn“ is not a documented major title of the family. Their legacy combines land ownership, the Reformation, royal service, and Scottish literature.
